Collector’s Bundle: 1967 World Final, Wembley (4 items)

£12.99

He was the Swede some said was finished but on September 16, 1967, Ove Fundin became the first man to win the World Championship for a fifth time, beating compatriot Bengt Jansson in a run-off. Fundin then immediately announced his retirement. This vintage bundle includes FOUR items:

A souvenir programme for the Final itself on Saturday September 16

A ticket for the South Terrace of the Empire Stadium

The Speedway Star Wembley Report and Pictures (September 22)

The Speedway Star World Final Scrapbook (September 29)

The Scrapbook in the September 29 Speedway Star is Dave Lanning’s report of his night at the Final. He visits all corners of the pits, records what he finds in each national camp and brings us a behind-the-scenes look at the comings and goings - including the row and scuffle involving Bernie Persson who leaves the track almost in tears. Well illustrated with photos by Wright Wood and Trevor Meeks.

It’s a real nostalgia trip amongst some of the great characters of Wembley Finals.

Condition: Programme good. Results filled in and small crease to top right of front cover. Ticket good. Speedway stars good - staples fine and intact. No creasing.
