Four for England (Vintage magazines)

£3.00

Condition: Pages slightly yellowed, as you would expect. These magazines from speedway’s great days are over 40 years old. Apart from that, their condition is good.

Two England duos feature on the covers of these Seventies magazines. The Speedway Star of September 18, 1970 shows the Boocock brothers while Martin Ashby and Ray Wilson smile out from the  March/April 1972 edition of the Speedway Express. On the back page of the Star is a great Britain team picture and, in colour, on the back of the Express are Halifax Dukes.

Seventies Mails (Vintage magazines)

£6.00

Condition: Pages yellowed with age. They are nibbled at the edges, as you would expect, and are folded down the middle, (see picture).

Speedway Mail was a proper speedway newspaper - a red top tabloid with plenty to say.

It was published every Friday during the 1975 and 1976 seasons, from which these examples are taken.

We are offering the following editions: March 7, 1975, April 11, 1975, May 14, 1976 and November 19, 1976.

Each copy comes in an individual cello bag and contains a wide variety of news stories, articles, interviews, riders’ own columns and a wealth of black and white pictures - some spread across a full tabloid-sized page, or even two!

Treat yourself to some unashamed nostalgia and some speedway history in a paper that those of us who remember it miss very much indeed.

Speedway Argus (Vintage magazine)

£4.00

Condition: In splendid condition for a 45 year-old glossy magazine. There is a light crease down the centre. Staples in very good condition.

We don’t feature the Speedway Argus very often but if you recall names like Tom Leadbitter, John Erskine, Dennis Gavros, Arnold Haley, Ted Laessing, Roy Williams, Murray Burt, Brian Maxted and Howard Cole, you’ll want to own this magazine for their photos alone. This is the April 1969 edition and includes articles and pictures on cycle speedway as well.
